Ruby City: To Diarmuid

Dear Diarmuid,
I'm really hoping you've found this letter because I was an idiot and left it lying out somewhere. If that's the case please feel free to find me and tease me for writing something like this.
If you've found this because the city seems to have finally had its fill of me and sent me home then... Well, I think the only thing I could do is apologize for leaving even if I had no say. While I don't particularly want to stay in Ruby City, I don't want to leave you by yourself. That is the last thing that I want to do. However, while I don't want to admit it, if you're reading it then I've definitely left the city for good.
Diarmuid, there really are no words to express how grateful I am for everything that you've done for me from the very first day I arrived off that train confusedand pretty terrified. A couple days later and you offered me a home at Spiral. You always had the time to offer advice, to tell me not to be so hard on myself, to joke around with. You never judged me.
We've all been through quite a bit thanks to the city - but each time you never hesitated to help others and protect anyone you could. I know since you came back from your world things have changed but please never forget. You are an amazing man and this other Diarmuid you're supposedly a copy of is nothing compared to you.
You're my family.
Now I know what everyone says - when we leave Ruby City we won't remember any of our time here. I know that's what we say, and it might be true. But I don't think I could ever forget everything from my time here. Deep down I'm always going to remember that I had a big brother here who is a knight, never hesitates to help people and shoved snow down my shirt.
Sincerely,
Afonso de Silva
PS - If somehow you ever find yourself in the Milllean Republic come to a town called Lyndol and just ask someone to point you in the direction of my home. There will always be a room there for you.
Except if you call me Fonzy. Then you can sleep outside.
